     Never count seniors down and out!  This past weekend was the last weekend of the State Senior tournament held at Spare time Lanes in Decatur, and there were several Danville Seniors who gave a good showing.  Singles and Doubles were both bowled during this tourney. Cliff Dupree rolled the top score with a 235. Greg Miller followed with a 234, Steve Newell, a 232,  Ernie Harvey, a 225, and Margo Johnson with a 201. Donna Berlin snagged the 5-6 split during the competition.  Complete results for the tournament should be posted in the next couple of weeks, and of course, we will report any Illiana area bowlers who place in the final tally.
   Speaking of Tournaments, Lincoln Lanes is having a Doubles this coming Sunday at 1pm. It is handicap, and you can pick your own partner. Drop by Lincoln Lanes to sign up.
    League reports for this week include the Monday Night Mixed at Bulan’s.  Rich McFarland rolled a 255 and a 635 series. Way to go Rich!  Not to be left behind, Sandy Burke rolled a 603.
    Going downtown to Lincoln Lanes, the Tuesday Nite Go-Getters , Terry Moreman rolled 72 pins over his average with a 222.  Not to be out done was Maggie Birge who tallied 63 pins over her average with a 209. In the Men’s 332 League, There were definitely some high rollers, with Joe Cox leading the way. Joe had a 268 for his first game of the nite, which was 74 pins over his average. His other games were 242, and 238. He had a whopping 748 series, which is 166 pins over his series average. Both Evan Davis and Steve Skimehorn bowled 66 pins over their average.  Evan’s other 2 games were a 166, and a 201, giving him a 587 series, but a total of 154 pins over his series average. Steve’s other games included a 224, and a 157, giving him a 635 series, 71 pins over his average for series.
    In  the Senior League, some great scores were reported. Stand Harvey rolled a 245, 64 pins over his average,  and Greg Miller, a 238, 72 pins over. Also, Charlie Graul hit 54 pins over with a 178 and Jack Ball bowled 56 pins over with a 197.  Don’t count the ladies out, as Margo Johnson rolled 59 pins over her average with a 194. In the split department, Joe Elliott picked up the 4-2-7, Jack Taylor, the 6-7-10, Judy Gebhart, the 4-5-7, and Dale Lierman snagged the 6-7-10.
   The Church No-Tap League on Mondays, has understandable high scores and series. High games recorded over 225 included: J R Scruggs-296, Scott Cunningham-276, 245 and 228. Terry Jones had a 266, Robbie Ketcherside-252, Mark Roberts-252, Brock Dieu-243, and Albert Syass-240 and 230
   All series over the 625 mark: Scott Cunningham-749, J R Scruggs-720, Albert Syass-681, Robbie Ketcherside-675,Terry Jones-660, and Mark Roberts-650. Sue Strong had a 617 series.

   We have the following ladies that scored over 200. They include Sue Strong-264, Nancy Goodner-234, Yvonne Scruggs-211 and a 210.  Eleanora Young had both a 208 and 200. Pam Jones had a 207
   The following bowlers were 50 or more pins over their average: J R Scruggs-82, Terry Jones-75, Brock Dieu-62, Sue Strong-62, Albert Syass-61, Nancy Goodner-58, Miles Clark-52, Dan Houpt-64 and Essie Syass-62
    Check out the King of the Hill tourney every other Saturday at 2pm. Check with Lincoln Lanes for the next KOH.. Speaking of King of the Hill, Bulan’s Bowl also has a King of the Hill tourney every Thursday Nite at 10pm until the end of bowling season. This tourney is bowled scratch, as is Lincoln Lanes’.
    Remember,   I had to slightly change things; I want to hear about all games over 225 for the men and 200 for the women, any series over 625, split pickups, and 50 pins or more over your average. I want to see your name in print. YOU want to see your name in print!!  I would like to see many leagues sending in their results and from all bowling centers in the Illiana area.  I hope to hear from Lincoln Lanes, Sycamore lanes in Covington, Bulan’s, west of town, and Fast Lanes, in Hoopeston.
