Mar 22, 2011

Last week I talked about how spring was fast approaching, but the way Kevin West was bowling on Tuesday nite, spring has passed, and summer is here. West was sizzling.  His high game was a 288. You combine that with a 235, and a 244, and you get a 767 series. Now that, is some great bowling.       Don’t leave though, we have more from the Men’s 332 League.  Will Thornsbrough, a 170 average bowler rolled a 611 series, which totaled 101 pins over his series average. Steve Skimehorn racked up 71 pins over his series average with a 644. Steve Finch, who boasts a 197 average, bowled a 256 high game, and with games of 210, and 177, gave himself a 643 series, of which was 52 pins over his series average. Bruce Rothery rolled 91 pins over his 177 average, capping out at 268. Noel Woods converted the 4-5-7 split. Other Tuesday night action had the Go Getters’ Terry Moreman rolling a 225 game, which was 74 pins over his average. Not to be left out, Houston Key rolled a 226, 66 pins over average. In the split department, Sherry Castonque and Dot McDaniel both picked up the 3-10. Cheryl Rhoton snared the 5-6, Bub Tiffin lassoed the 2-7, Paula Beatty snagged the 5-10, and Lisa Moudy converted the 5-7. Traveling down south to Westville, Martha Hargan rolled a 164, 52 pins over her Tuesday Morning Ladies League average.
Our report from the Monday Nite Mixed League at Bulans has Nick Grubbs rolling a 729 series, while Lynsey Jackson rolled a 232. In the Friday Night Mixed League at Lincoln Lanes, David Henderson picked up the dreaded 7-10 split, while Bill Phillips  rolled a 278.
We have the following results from the Thursday afternoon Senior League, Ed Reed had a high game of 234 which was 52 pins over his game average.  Reed also bowled 106 pins over his series total.  John Ramsey bowled 55 pins over his game average with a 228.  Marion Johnson was 51 pins over his game average and Dot McDaniel was 51 pins over hers.   Carolyn Stevens picked up the 2-8-10 split. Meredith Stokes bowled an all spare game with a 172.  Even though the USBC no longer recognizes this as a good thing, we do! Congrats Meredith!   Finishing up with the Monday Night Church No Tap League, Robbie Ketcherside rolled a 276 game which was 72 pins over his average. Brooke Roberts rolled 79 pins over her average with a 253. Other bowlers 50 or more pins over average were Albert Syass 64, Ella Ellis 94, and Eleanora Young, 76. Syass picked up the 5-10 split, while Joe Davis converted the 5-8-10.
Just received this in the Inbox from the Sunday Nite Mixed League, Chad Cox  and Jerry Schrader picked up the 6-7 split. Tim Leclaire, a 176 average bowler, rolled a 247 game, while Thomas Steven’s rolled a 168 game with his 103 average.
Until next week, let’s have fun and knock ‘em down.
