Mar 7, 2011

Don Coan can now say he is perfect. At least when it comes to bowling, he can. A Midwest Electric League bowler, he rolled a 300 game on February 24th, and March 4th at Bulan’s Bowl. Must be nice to be able to bowl  2 300 games in less than a 2 week span. While talking with Don on the phone, I asked him how many perfect games he has thrown, and he replied, about 9.  How I wish it were that easy for me. Congrats Don!!
We have a report from the Friday nite Mixed at Lincoln Lanes. Lisa Ford rolled 57 pins over her average, while Stephanie Sherman was 68 over her’s.
Traveling west of town to Bulan’s, we find out that Rich McFarland rolled a 289 to complete a 749 series, while Josh Troxel was just behind him with a 256, and a 684 series. Bruce Shephard was 100 pins over his 150 average, If I remember correctly, Bruce is the 1st bowler reported to have more than 100 pins over. Congrats Bruce! Other bowlers in the 50 pins over were Frank Keller 64 pins over his 127, rolling a 191.  Rich’s 289 was 67 pins over, and Josh’s game was 58 pins over his 198 average.
Tuesday is always full of activity.  Tony Dompe of the Go-Getters really got it on Tuesday nite. He rolled a whopping 257 to complete a 641 series.  That game was 72 pins over his average. Just behind Tony was Dick Lamb, who was 65 pins over his average when he bowled a 213. In the split department, Cheryl Rhoton picked up the 4-9., while Dot McDaniel, Gerald Arnett, and Tracy Smith all picked up the 3-10. Paula Beatty converted the 5-10, Deb Miller, snagged the 5-7, while Dick Lamb had no problem with the 3-7.
Right next to the Go-Getters is the Men’s 332 League, where we have heard that Both Mike Murdock and Teddy Carter bowled a 248 game. According to the report I received, Teddy was 61 pins over his game average, and 99 pins over his series average. Steve Finch rolled a 633 series, which was 54 pins over his series average. Former classmate Leroy Hughes rolled 96 pins over his series average with a 609.  Evan Davis picked up the 5-7 split, and Dalton Madsen converted the 5-10.
In the Senior League, Jack Taylor was 85 pins over his game average with a 241.  Bob Beck was 62 pins over his game average with a 225. Split pickups this week were Shirley Lamm, who picked up the 5-9-10, Jack Ball, 5-6-10, Shirley Miller, the 5-7-9, Sandy West picked up the 4-5-7, and Jack Taylor picked up not only the5-7, but also the 4-5-7.  Great shots, people.
Let’s finish up with the Monday Night Church No Tap League.   Steve Remole rolled a 286 while Yvonne Scruggs had a 262, and Sue Strong topped out at 252. Joseph Davis rolled a 730 series, with Sue Strong rolling a 692 and Sharon Craft rolling a 639 series. Let’s check out who was 50 or more pins over their averages. We have Richard Morgan at 84, Yvonne Scruggs with 77, Lawrence Craft with 71, Steve Remole and Jeff Lane, both with 72, and Sharon Craft with 56 pins over her average. Julianne Haynes converted the 6-10 split.
Until next week, let’s have fun and knock ‘em down.
