January 24, 2012

We had some great scores reported this week, especially in the Go Getter and the Senior League where many bowlers bowled way over their averages. However, let’s get the high game of the week out of the way.
According to reports, Derrick Hufford rolled yet another 299 game on a recent Wednesday nite in the annex at Lincoln Lanes. That makes three 300 games, two 299 games, and two 800 series this bowling season. That is what you call good bowling. Can I have just one perfect game? Please?
In the DNA Karaoke League, Jennifer Ovall bowled a 201 which is 70 pins over her average of 131. Have not heard from the MS Nail Salon for a while, but we did this week, as they report that Sharon Craft picked up the 5-10 split, not once, not twice, not even three times, but a total of 4 times in one day. Great conversions Sharon. In the Tuesday Nite Go-Getters , Steve Lamb was hot again rolling a 585 series, 123 pins over his series average. In that series was a 231 game, of which is 77 pins over game average. Paula Beatty rolled 52 pins over average for a 199. Fred Fultz was 57 pins over for a 191. Chris Bookins also rolled a 191, 54 pins over. Gerald Arnett rolled 67 pins over his game average for a 219. Jon Castle was 54 pins over with a 211. Joe Elliott rolled a 200, 71 pins over, and Russ Puzey totaled 60 pins over average with a 190. Converting splits was common place for some of the Go-Getters. Joe Elliot, Tracy Smith, and Cheryl Rhoton all picked up the3-10. Paula Beatty converted the 2-7, Martha Elliott not only knocked out the 3-10, but also the 2-7-8. Terra Holler corralled the 2-7-8, Terry Moreman, the 3-5-10, and Tuck Miller slapped out the 4-5-7.
In The Senior League John Gebhart was 71 pins over his game average and rolled a game of 233.  Stan Harvey had games of 240 and 236 with a series of 671.  Ed Reed shot a game of 246 and a series of 670. Ernie Harvey had a game of 258 and Greg Miller had a game of 235. Marion Johnson picked up the 4-9 split, John Gebhart snatched up the 5-10, and Dot McDaniel knocked out the 3-10.
Take a look at these scores from the Monday Nite Church No Tap league:  Jimmy Scruggs rolled a 277 which was 78 pins over his 199 average. Shirley Perryman, a 172 average bowler, rolled 91 pins over her average for a 263. Terry Jones topped out for a 714 series, including one game of 253, 53 pins over his average. Jeff Lane totaled a 687 series. Jeremy Randolph garnered a 274, with knocking out a 222, 52 pins over average. Pam Jones, not to be outdone by her husband, rolled 86 pins over her 154 average, for a pin total of 240. Barbara West, bowled out for a 230, 65 over an average of 165, while Lee Ann Palmer achieved 54 pins over a 128 average for a 182. Brock Dieu knocked out the 3-6-7 split, while Finas Glenn scattered the 4-10.
Rule of the week review:

1. Both captains, or one or more members of each of the opposing teams, or

Until next week, let’s have fun and knock ‘em down. See you at the lanes.
