Danville Hall of Famer Passes...Feb 26, 2015

    Danville Bowling Hall of Famer Joe Elliott passed away this past Sunday, after suffering a stroke on Friday evening. Joe has bowled in Danville since at least the 60’s, had served as Secretary/Treasurer on various leagues, and also on the Board of Directors for the Danville Area Bowling Association. He most recently bowled on both the Go Getter and Senior Leagues.  Visitation is tonight from 4-7 at Sunset Funeral home, and services will be at Immanuel Lutheran church on Bowman, 10 am on Friday.
      Top scores for this week has Larry Cash shooting 300 last weekend in the singles tournament in the annex at Lincoln Lanes. Jesse Alvarez shot 290 in the same tournament.  Close, but no cigar, was the motto for Steve Skimehorn as he rolled a 299 in Mutual League action this past Tuesday.
    The Friday Night League at Sycamore Lanes in Covington, Kevin Barnes shot games of 243-191-248 for a 682 series. Darrell Edwards rolled games of 229-183-234 for a 646 series. Topping the 700 mark was Travis Edwards with 259-206-254 for a 719 series.  Aaron Howard shot 66 over for a 234, while Alen Arnold rolled games of 199-246-245 for a 690.  Splits:  Bill Shoaf 5-7, Duane Schaeffhold 3-7-10, Dawn Hughes 2-10, and Jim Hensley 4-5-7 and 5-6-10.
     In the Senior League Betty Lierman bowled a 183 game which was 58 pins over and she shot a 484 series which was 109 pins over.  Ron Candido rolled a 254, 61 pins over his game avg.  Harlie Huckleby bowled a 180 game which was 50 pins over his game average,  Stan Harvey had a 227 game which was 50 pins,  while Greg Miller shot a 638 series, 110 pins over his series average.  Split conversions included Betty Lierman 6-7-10, Aaron Williams, Jim Thomas, Allen Taylor, the 5-7, with Taylor knocking it out twice. Judy Gebhart knocked out the 3-7-10 while Ron Blagg eliminated the 2-7-8.
     Tuesday Nite Go Getter’s:  Maggie Birge, 43 over with a 209, Dustin Dolbee, 55 over with a 259., and Linda Engle 43 over with a 176 series. Joe Pascal rolled a 498, 102 pins over series average, and he also shot a189 game, 57 pins over. Gary Holycross, 49 over with a 231, Houston Key, 48 over with a 202, and John Mikel 53 over with a 203, while Charlie Tiffin shot a 193, 46 over.  Houston Key converted the 5-10 split.
       MS Nail Salon League: Pam Jeffers bowled a 204, while Donna Rayhel shot a 202.
Sue strong also rolled a 201 and a 202 as part of a 650 series, as Connie Williams bowled a 506 series. Judy Mentzer and Pat Dokey both picked up the 5-7 split.
      Westville’s Monday Morning Ladies League had Wilma Pollman picking up the 6-7-10.
