Several
senior bowlers made the trek to Pekin ,
Il., the weekend of Nov 8th, to participate in the State Senior
Tournament. Our local seniors made a great showing, with Berlin , Maxwell, McDaniel and Miller, placing
1st in their respective categories. Bob Maxwell placed 1st
in Men’s Class A All Events, Singles, and Doubles. Maxwell’s partner was Keith
Carter. Shirley Miller garnered the first place position in the Super Senior
Division for Women, while Donna Berlin took the top position in Women’s Class A
All Events. Dot and Bill McDaniel teamed up to win Mixed Doubles in Class B.
Berlin and Miller also placed 2nd and 3rd, respectively
in Women’s Class A. Also placing in Men’s Class A singles was Cliff Dupree in 8th.
Congrats go out to all the seniors!
Our report from Hoopeston is the Sunday
night mixed league was led by Patty Lowe with a 226 game and a 641 series while
Jeremy Lanes shot a 268. John Lowe had high series with a 715 and Jeremy Lanes
had a 697. On the Monday night ladies it was Jennifer Crawley leading the way
with a 236 game and a 576 series while Susan Goble's 222 was her top score for
the night. Will Bruens League was led by Brandon Hamilton's 269 game and 724
series. Tony Gress had a 256 game and a 620 to finish the night.
The Monday Morning Ladies League at
Westville reports that Phyllis Rhutan rolled 61 pins over her average for a
205.
The Tuesday Nite Go Getters had Chris
Brookins shooting 60 pins above average for a 205, and 101 pins above his
series average. Harlie Huckleby was 42 over for a 162, while Maggie Birge was
54 over with a 219. Di Summers shot 45 over her average, while Joe Elliott was
41 over. Split
conversions consisted of the 5-6 by Bill McDaniel, Deb Miller, and Darlene
Edwards, the 4-5, Houston Key, the 4-6, Jim Thomas, the 5-10. Greg Miller, Chad
Jones, Stan Harvey and Bub Tiffin, all knocked out the 5-7.
The MS Nail Salon League has Sue Strong
picked up a 6-7-10 split. Connie Krabbe earned her 400 series award when
she bowled a 410. Marti Stanton earned her 125 game award with a 130 game. Sue Warner earned her 175
game award with a 184 game. Donna Rayhel had a 568 series while Susan O'Herron
had a 432 series.
Over at Sycamore Lanes, Covington ’s Kevin Barnes shot a 230, 45 over
while Aaron Howard had a 201-169-225 for a 595 series with a 172 average.
Steven Jones rolled a 227, 50 over, and Cody Jumps topped out with a 220 for 77
over.
In the Thursday afternnoon Senior League, Allen Taylor bowled a game of 212 which was
58 pins over his game average. Fred Fultz shot, 55 pins over his game
average. Ron Candido roled a game of 245, 56 pins over his game
average. He also bowled a 672 series which was 105 pins over his series
total. Donna Berlin bowled a 189 game which was 61 pins over her game
average. Raymond Berlin shot a 190 game which was 55 pins over his game
average, while Ron Blagg rolled a 229 game which was 59 pins over his game
average. The following splits were converted: Fred Fultz, 5-7; John Gebhart,
5-10; Tuck Miller 2-5-7 and Martha Elliott,
Ernie Harvey and Stan Harvey all picked up the 5-7.
