Almost Perfect.....Albea Tops Out At 299 - Dec 25th

    Cliff Albea from Covington recently left the 4 pin. How ever he left it after rolling 11 strikes in a row, on his was to a 299 game. Donnie Cheesman shot 299 and an 804 series two weeks ago.    In Hoopeston, the Monday night ladies Karen Porth had a 253-605 followed by Susan Goble & Patty Lowe’s 198. Sunday night was led by Zach Puralwski 234 and Jeremy Lanes 222. Allen Wilson led with a 634. The ladies were led by Diana Judy with a 223 game with a 143 average. The youth keep coming as Kayla Goble had a 245-614 series and Chase Milner had a 163 game 

     Fast Lanes is having an 8 Pin tournament on New Year’s Eve that is open to everyone. Bowl 4 games, throw out your worst? Starting time is 7:00 and is limited to 80 bowlers. Less than 20 remain. Cost is $25.00 per person. There is a band, Past Country starting at 9:00-1:00.

   In the Thursday afternoon Senior League Jan Frank bowled a 184 which was 50 pins over her game average.  Bob Maxwell bowled a 231 , was 81 pins over his game average, while    Raymond Berlin bowled a 189 game which was 50 pins over his game avg. Split conversions consisted of Harlie Huckleby  with the 2-7-10;  Martha Elliott 2-7-8; while John Ramsey, Teddy Carter, and Judy Gebhart, all with the 5-7.  Marion Johnson picked up the 5-10 twice, while Ruth Campbell picked up the 3-9-10 and the 2-8-7.

   The Tuesday Nite Go Getters had Harl Miller rolling 72 over average for a 208, and 52 over for a 188. Keith Carter shot a 186, 59 over. Paula Beatty soled 53 over for a 207 game. Harlie Huckleby was 52 over for a 177, Lisa Moudy 40 over for a 188, and Gary Holycross 55 over for a 233.  John Mikel shot 42 over for a 192, while Whitney Tiffin rolled a 151, 49 over.   Converting splits were  Jim Thomas, the 4-7-7, and Martha Elliott with the 5-7, and the 7-8. Joe Pascal, the 6-7, and Harlie Huckleby, with the 5-6-10. Sue Strong converted the 5-7 while Irv Summers knocked out the 5-8-10.

      In Covington’s Friday Night League, Jessica Barnes had a 185, 47 over, Johnny Fielder with a 230, 51 over, while Jim Hensley shot a 219, 53 over.  Gary Edmiston picked up 3-10, Chad Edmiston 5-7, Keith Barnes 4-7-9, and Tommy Gebhart 5-7

Sirrat Shoots Perfect Game - Dec 18th

    Kyle Sirrat bowled perfect Tuesday Night in the Mutual League, well, at least one game, where he rolled a perfect game, the elusive 300.

11 year old Hoopeston girl, Kayla Goble rolled a 223, and a 245, which helped propel her to a 614 series, in the Tuesday Night Youth League. She was followed up by Mercy Linder's 201 game. Chase Milner led the boys with a 163 with a 104 average. 

Sunday night's mixed league was led by Diana Judy with a 227. Mike Edwards led the men with a 269 followed by Kenny Samet's 244 and  Doug Wagoner’s 626 series.

   We have some results from the recently concluded Illinois State Special Olympics tourney, out of Peoria. Danville bowlers John Camarata finished in 1^st, while Jack Royster picked up 4^th.  Patrick Cook, Camarata, Carl Purk, and Joe Rich comprised the 1^st place team. Congrats to the Danville contingent.

    In the MS Nail Salon League, Nora Price bowled a 147  today and a 368 series, Donna Rayhel bowled a 225 game for a 527 series, while Marti Stanton bowled a 132 game.

    Westville’s Monday Morning Ladies League has Laura Baird picking up the 2-7-10 split.

    The Senior League had Tuck Miller shooting a 209, 70 pins over average.  The following split conversions were recorded: Laura Baird, 5-6-10; Jim Thomas 5-7; Aaron Williams 5-7-9; and Barb Smith with the 5-10.

    The Tuesday Nite Go Getters had Harl Miller rolling 46 over average for a 181. Joe Pascal had a 193, 66 over, Laura Baird was 52 over for a 191, while Steve Lamb was 56 over for a 196. Splits included Jim Thomas with the 5-6-10, Houston Key, the 5-7, Gary Holycross, 4-7-10, and Tracy Smith, the 3-9-10.

    In Covington’s Friday Night League, Kevin Barnes rolled 235-210-248 for a 693 series, with a 188 average.(60 Darrell Edwards shot a 171-158-268 for a 597 series 87 over average. Tom Gebhart bowled a 235, 68 over, Brian Goodwin, 202, 55 over,  Aaron Howard had a 235 game,  62 over, while Scottie Reinken shot 238-256 and 205, for a 699 series.

    Speaking of Friday nights, Danville’s Friday Night league had Greg Miller rolling his highest series to date with a 644. His games included 216, 201, and a 227. Joe Rich picked up the 4, 9, 10.

Great Scores Reported - Dec 11th

     Do hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and are now looking forward to the Christmas holidays coming up.  Thinking about that new bowling ball or two?  Let your loved ones know.

      Hoopeston is reporting some great action this past week, especially with Jacob White picking up the elusive 7-10 split. Dean Kregel led off the Men's league Thursday with a 276-715 series followed by Brandon Hamilton with a 270-730 Series. Chad Bruens had a 267-689 series with 9 in a row only to leave a solid 8 on his 10th ball.

     Geoffery Berlin led the Sunday night mixed with a 263 but Bobby Gossett a young 19 year old got his first 600 with a 647- with games of 221-200-226 on a 168 average. Karen Porth led the ladies with a 236-587. Monday was led by Jennifer Crawley 226-610 and Kelly Thilmoney led the Wednesday night ladies with a 263-635 and Mona Birch with a 221. Helen Taflinger had a 200 game with her 145 average.

     Had some good scores, however nothing beat Jacob White picking up the 7-10 split on Saturday night.      Our Covington report has Judy Gebhart picking up the 3-9-10, Aaron Howard, the 5-7, Beth Barnes, Kevin Barns, and Rose Schaefold all picking up the 3-10. Kevin Barnes rolled a 607 series (203-204-200), Scott Reinken 679 (232-247-200) and Lea Arnold 609 (215-203-191). Jean Clifton bowled a 194 with a 126 average for 68 over, Janet McMasters bowled a 236 with a 177 average for 61 over and Katrina Edwards bowled a 193-189-235 for 617 with a 174 average. The 235 was 61 over.

     In Senior League action, Susan Brookins rolled 67 pins over her average for a 169. She also bowled a 411 series, 105 pins over her series norm. Ella Miller shot a 214, 74 pins over, while Martha Elliott topped her average by 52 pins, with a 193.  Splits for the day include Laura Baird with the 5-6-10, Tuck Miller, with the 4-5, Ernie Harvey with the 5-7, Jim Thomas, the 4-7-9. John Ramsey, the 3-6-7-10, Micahel Seward, the 3-7-10, and Judy Gebhart with the 4-5-7.

     Finishing up with the Tuesday Nite Go Getter action, Jon Castle, 46 above with a 193. Houston Key 56 over, also with a 209. Ella Miller, 54 over with a 185, and 40 over for a 171.  She was also over her series by 111 pins.  Tracy Smith was 44 pins over average with a 206.  Converting splits were Dot McDaniel, 5-7; Maggie Birge 3-9-10; Lisa Moudy 5-7; Joe Pascal 5-7; Jon Castle 2-4-10 and 5-7-9, and Darlene Edwards, 5-7. Rosematy Puzey, the 5-10. Irvin Summers knocked out the 5-7 to finish out the night.

Hamilton, Gourard Roll 300 Games - Dec 4th

     Heard thru the grapevine that Brandon Hamilton rolled a 300 recently in Danville’s Mutual League, ad George Gourard did the same in the Monday Night No Tap League. Congrats to both.

     The MS Nail Salon League has a few reports from this past Tuesday. Marti Stanton picked up the 5-7 split, while Donna Rayhel converted the 3-6-7.  Pam Foehrer bowled a 151 game and earned the 10 award. Two bowlers earned the 175 award, Brenda Lomax, with a 193, and Sandy West with a 176.

Senior Tourney Results Are In - Nov 27th

     Several senior bowlers made the trek to Pekin, Il., the weekend of Nov 8^th, to participate in the State Senior Tournament. Our local seniors made a great showing, with Berlin, Maxwell, McDaniel and Miller, placing 1^st in their respective categories. Bob Maxwell placed 1^st in Men’s Class A All Events, Singles, and Doubles. Maxwell’s partner was Keith Carter. Shirley Miller garnered the first place position in the Super Senior Division for Women, while Donna Berlin took the top position in Women’s Class A All Events. Dot and Bill McDaniel teamed up to win Mixed Doubles in Class B. Berlin and Miller also placed 2^nd and 3^rd, respectively in Women’s Class A. Also placing in Men’s Class A singles was Cliff Dupree in 8^th. Congrats go out to all the seniors!

     Our report from Hoopeston is the Sunday night mixed league was led by Patty Lowe with a 226 game and a 641 series while Jeremy Lanes shot a 268. John Lowe had high series with a 715 and Jeremy Lanes had a 697. On the Monday night ladies it was Jennifer Crawley leading the way with a 236 game and a 576 series while Susan Goble's 222 was her top score for the night. Will Bruens League was led by Brandon Hamilton's 269 game and 724 series. Tony Gress had a 256 game and a 620 to finish the night.

    The Monday Morning Ladies League at Westville reports that Phyllis Rhutan rolled 61 pins over her average for a 205.

    The Tuesday Nite Go Getters had Chris Brookins shooting 60 pins above average for a 205, and 101 pins above his series average. Harlie Huckleby was 42 over for a 162, while Maggie Birge was 54 over with a 219. Di Summers shot 45 over her average, while Joe Elliott was 41 over. Split conversions consisted of the 5-6 by Bill McDaniel, Deb Miller, and Darlene Edwards, the 4-5, Houston Key, the 4-6, Jim Thomas, the 5-10. Greg Miller, Chad Jones, Stan Harvey and Bub Tiffin, all knocked out the 5-7.

    The MS Nail Salon League has Sue Strong picked up a 6-7-10 split. Connie Krabbe earned her 400 series award when she bowled a 410. Marti Stanton earned her 125 game award with a 130 game. Sue Warner earned her 175 game award with a 184 game. Donna Rayhel had a 568 series while Susan O'Herron had a 432 series.

    Over at Sycamore Lanes, Covington’s Kevin Barnes shot a 230, 45 over while Aaron Howard had a 201-169-225 for a 595 series with a 172 average. Steven Jones rolled a 227, 50 over, and Cody Jumps topped out with a 220 for 77 over.     

    In the Thursday afternnoon Senior League, Allen Taylor bowled a game of 212 which was 58 pins over his game average.  Fred Fultz shot, 55 pins over his game average.  Ron Candido roled a game of 245, 56 pins over his game average. He also bowled a 672 series which was 105 pins over his series total.  Donna Berlin bowled a 189 game which was 61 pins over her game average.  Raymond Berlin shot a 190 game which was 55 pins over his game average, while Ron Blagg rolled a 229 game which was 59 pins over his game average. The following splits were converted: Fred Fultz, 5-7; John Gebhart, 5-10; Tuck Miller  2-5-7 and Martha Elliott,  Ernie Harvey and Stan Harvey all picked up the 5-7.

Camarata Rolls 278, Career High - Nov 20th

     This week’s top bowler is from the Tuesday Nite Go Getters. John Camarata opened up in the 1^st frame of his 2^nd game, strung 10 strikes together, and finished leaving one pin standing in the 3^rd portion of the 10^th frame, with a final score of 278, and a 567 series.  He was 136 pins over his game average, and 141 over his series. Other Tuesday night action included John Mikel 42 over, Melissa Castle with two 166 games, 44 pins over each game, a 175, 53 over, with a final series of 507, 141 pins above. Split conversions includes Mac McDaniel 5-7, Di Summers 5-6-10, and Bub Tiffin, the 5-10.

     In other league action, the Monday Morning Ladies from Westville, has Judy Mariage rolling 60 pins over for a 180.

     MS Nail Salon action had Connie Krabbe rolling a 162 to earn a 150 game Award, while Betty Rowley shot a 176 to earn a 175 Game Award.

     Over the state line in Covington, Gary Edmiston shot a 265 with a 147 average for 118 over at Sycamore Lanes.  Chad Edmiston had a 210 with 149 average for 61 over. Darrell Edwards rolled a 241 with 183 average for 58 over, while Janet Mcmasters had a 177-247-223-647 series with a 168 average for 79 over. Steve Russell had 522 series, Darrell Edwards had a 567 series, and Gary Edmiston had a 524.

    Terry Bell Jr. bowled a game of 234 which was 51 pins over his game average.  Clara Copsy rolled a 176 which was 52 pins over her game average, while Ernie Harvey shot a 224 game which was 53 pins over his game average. Split pick ups included Judy Gebhart, the 4-5-7;  Bob Coburn,  the 4-5; and Judy Arnett, the 6-10. The 5-7 seemed to be an easy conversion, as Keith Carter, Fred Fultz, Greg Miller, and Jim Thomas, all picked up the 5-7.

Danville Seniors Travel to Pekin - Nov 13th

    This past weekend, some of Danville’s Senior bowlers traveled to Pekin for their annual state tourney.  The official results are not in, but I think it would be safe to say, we will have some interesting tabulations.

      Fast Lanes, in Hoopeston are going to have a 7-8-9 pin singles tournament on Saturday Night, Nov 22nd starting at 7:00. Groups may call ahead and book lanes. Cost is $25.00 per person. Turkeys will be given away also.

     Speaking of Hoopeston, on the Thursday Night Will Bruens’ League, it was Kyle Richards leading the way with a 244 and Andy Wallace with a 239. Chad Bruens led with a 649 series. Karen Porth led the ladies with a 226 game and on Wednesday night it was Shelia Levitt 221 & 598 series.

     In the MS Nail Salon League, Dorothy Hesler picked up a 5-7-10 split today, and Roma Buese and Tamara Hathaway earned the 175 game award. Frances Miller-Hauf bowled a 412 series for a 400 Series Award and Connie bowled a 509 for 500 Series Award while Donna Rayhel bowled a 203.

     Sycamore Lanes in Covington for the Friday Night League: Ron Cates with games of 205-165-233 for a 603 series, 184 over average.  Scottie Reinken rolled games of 248-267-253-768 series with a 192 average. He received pins for 140 over series, 700 series, a 250 game, and the 267 was 75 over his average.  John Gebhart picked up the 3-10 and the 2-7, JR Messenger picked up the 3-10, Marcy McQueen picked up the 5-10, and Rose Schaeffhold picked up the 5-10 and bowled a 194 (137Average) for 57 over.

      In the Senior League, Alva Gouty bowled a 181 game.  It was 80 pins over his game average. Split conversions consisted of Susan Brookins 5-6; Houston Key and Keith Carter 5-7;  Gary Holycross 5-10; Bob Maxwell and Judy Gebhart the 3-10; Harlie Huckleby 3-7-10 and Margo Johnson the 4-5-7.

    The MeHarry League at Lincoln Lanes had some great scores this past week. They were Joahn Pendleton 71 over average, a 268 game and a 684 series, Bobby Fauver was 68 over, for a 267 game, and a 732 series. Shannon Walls shot 62 over for a 684 series, while Beebop Tetter shot 62 over, while Doc Finch rolled a 260 game, Troy Brigham, a 693 series, and Clarice Wahlfeldt 225 game, and a  654 series.

      Pin action was plenty in the Tuesday Nite Go Getter League, where Joe Elliott was 48 over for a 158. Deb Miller was 59 over with a 166, while John Camarata shot 51 pins over for a 190. Ray Rogers rolled 40 pins above with a 225, Stan Harvey, 62 over with a 243 and Melissa Castle  63 over for a 182, 47 over with a 166, for 105 pins over series average.  Split conversions consisted of Jon Castle with the 3-10; Eddie King and Sue Strong 5-7; Bill McDaniel 6-10; Charlie Tiffin 5-10, Martha Elliott 9-10; Laura Baird 4-5, and 3-7; and Joe Elliott 3-6-7-10.
