We have yet another tournament coming up this weekend. A Couple’s No-Tap tourney is being held at
Bulans Bowl on Saturday Nite at 7:30. The cost is $30 a couple. Just a
reminder, at Fast Lanes, on Nov 21, there will be a 7-8-9 No Tap tourney, and
you will be able to throw out one game. It is Singles, and there will be both
men and ladies divisions. There will be a live band starting at 8:30.
Hey, got a question to
ask you. Are you a bowler who likes to clean your bowling ball down at the
center during competition? Did you know
the cleaner’s odor is not only offensive to some, but harmful as well. Maybe we
can be courteous to our fellow bowlers, and clean the ball away from the
bowling area. That way, we can help someone breathe a bit easier.
All right, I know
you want this week’s results, so let’s get to them. The Monday Nite Church No-Tappers had this
report: Jimmy Scruggs not only had a 739 series, bt a 300 game as well. Terry
Jone rolled a 279 game, on his way to a 699 series. Other bowlers with games 50 or more pins over
their averages included Scott Cunningham 244-187-57; Albert Syass 233-157-76; U
Pete Williams 240-169-71; Karen Hoskins 231-179-52; Karen Lane 176-112-64 and
Lynnse Gondzur 186-135-51.
The Monday Nite League
at Bulans had the following split
conversions this week: Sandi Burke
demonstrated the easy way of picking up the 4-10, Cindy Davenport, the 6-7-10,
and Kevin Bennett smashed the 3-7-10.
Can you believe I
actually forgot the Tuesday Nite Go-Getters last week. Yep, so we have a double
report this week. On Oct 30th, Greg Miller rolled a 244, 78 pins
over his 166 average. Joe Blagg shot a 218, 53 pins over his, and 141 average
bowler Maggie Birge shot 50 pins over to garner a 191. Looking at split
conversions, looks as if the 5-10 was rather easy for the Always Late team, as
Bub, Charlie, and Dot Tiffin, Maggie Birge and Houston Key all converted it, as
well as Sherry Castongue. Jon Castle had picked up the 3-10, 5-7, as well as the 2-7-8. Birge also picked up
the 4-9. Also picking up the 3-10 were Sue Strong, and Dot McDaniel, not once,
but twice. Harl Miller lassoed the 5-8-10, while Greg Miller demonstrated how
we should pick up the 5-6.
In the TLC League at
Bulans on Tuesday evenings, Jerry Sims shot a 278, with a 712 series, while
Kristen Duke rolled 56 pins over her 154 average for a 210 game.
Looked as if some of
the Senior bowlers were warming up for last weekend’s tourney. Jim Thomas was
53 pins over average with a 213, John Ramsey threw a 236, 53 pins over, Phil
Stultz, 57 pins over for a 199, Houston
Key tapped out a 225, 67 pins over, while a newcomer this year to the league,
Michelle Williams threw 67 pins over her game average for a 177 game. Speaking
of the Senior Tourney, we should have the results soon, and we will let you
know if any of our local group placed. Judy Gebhart did knock out the 4-5-7.
Covington’s Early
Friday evening league had some great results from 4 bowlers. Art Wagoner shot a
257, 60 pins over his 197 average, which helped to achieve a 646 series. Paul
Priebe rolled 50 pins over his 137 average for a 187. Mike Dunavan, a 183
average bowler, rolled 52 pins over to garner a 235, and a 672 series, while
Beth Barnes shot 51 pins over her 139 average for a 190 game.
The Friday nite Mixed
League once again had some great scores.
Jerrad Reed rolled an exciting 290 game, 11 strikes in a row, and also
rolled a 255, for a 756 series. Rich McFarland had a 259 game, and Terrence
Cloyd had a 256 game included in his 686 series. Scott Reinken had a 725 series
including a 254 game, while Danny Lazzell rolled a 260 game. Nicole Brown and
Brandi Welsch both had a 236 game. Brown had a 641 series. The following
bowlers rolled 50 or more pins over their averages: Mike Camarata 202-143-59;
Joe Rich 227-169-58; Jon Cox 205-150-55; Eric Crockett 232-173-59; Wayne Brown
Sr. 245-186-59; Ryan Smith 213-159-54; Shawn Tietz 236-174-62; and Teddy Cater
244-185-59.
